Job Description Summary
The role entails a combination of office and field tasks to assist project teams in the planning and construction of various projects including assisting to ensure projects are being constructed on time, on budget, and in accordance with the plans and specifications.
Essential Functions
Review of project plans and specifications
Daily coordination with Project Manager to assist with planning, layout, and scheduling
Review Project Controls and Budgets
Onsite quality control inspections
Daily review of time-cards for cost coding and quantity accuracy
Procurement and comparison of subcontractor and supplier quotes
Safety awareness and site inspections
Organization of project tracking logs (buyout, planning, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, etc.)
Quantity takeoffs
Preparation of payment requisitions to the Owner
Material procurement and compliance
Preparation of submittals to the Project Manager
Invoice and receipt cost coding
Subcontractor coordination
Required Skills and Experience
2-5 years of construction and or transportation industry experience
1-3 years of experience in heavy highway construction.
Proficient with excel and project management software
Competencies

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are normally Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for long periods. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Must be able to quickly respond appropriately to unexpected events.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This work environment will be in a field environment and will be required to work on the job site when necessary and will be exposed to outside weather conditions; exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust; moving mechanical parts; uneven, rough and slippery surfaces and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level is usually loud.
