Field Crew - Job Description
What to Expect:
Daily field work, tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: weeding, irrigating, harvesting, washing of vegetables, seeding, transplanting, and field maintenance.
Work Ethic & Expectations:
Field work requires self-motivation, focus during the work day, a strong work ethic, ability to work with a team, stay positive in the midst of monotonous work, and have an interest in and/or willingness to learn about agriculture. The ability to work outdoors, lift heavy materials, use hand tools, and get dirty, are all components to a typical day.
Farm Crew employees must arrive to work on time and be prepared to work in any kind of weather.
Safety:
Closed-toe shoes are required for field work. Sun hats, sun block as needed, taking water breaks, wearing proper clothing or rain gear, are all methods for staying safe during the work day, and are the responsibility of each individual. This position requires moving and lifting weights of 40 lbs. or more, practicing safe lifting methods is encouraged.
All positions are paid at an hourly rate. Full-time employees work a 40-hour work week and receive 2 unpaid days off during the week. A full work day is 8 hours with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break (these times may change due to weather, harvest needs, or other circumstances).The farm crew schedule start times vary based on the season, between 6:00am-7:30am.
