Schedule: Variable

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be bilingual.
  • Must pass a test for competency prior to employment.
  • Must work cooperatively with others.
  • Must maintain respectful, positive interactions.
  • Must have good communication and public relations skills.
  • Must be comfortable in public speaking.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information and records.
  • Must be flexible; recognize and adjust to different cultural backgrounds.
  • Must have a proven record of punctuality, dependability, and consistent attendance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak a similar language by converting one spoken language to another.
  • Attend conferences and meetings and act as official translator to mediate discussion.
  • Accurately relay concepts and ideas between languages.
  • Facilitate communication for people with limited English proficiency.

Disclosure Statement and Background Check

Pursuant to RCW 43.43.830 through RCW 43.43.840, new employees will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating any convictions of crimes against persons as listed in the law. In addition, a background check based on fingerprints will be requested from the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
