Schedule: Variable/On-Call

Pay: $20.13-$21.86 per hour

Closing Date: January 30 2025

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have earned 72 college level GPA credits from an institution of higher education, have an AA degree, or be able to pass the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Assessment.
  • Must be able to work well with people with ability to maintain positive attitude.
  • Must have a love for children and demonstrated empathy for and ability to provide appropriate nurturing and guidance for students.
  • Must be able to work one-on-one with students in which learning is difficult.
  • Ability to follow teacher direction in working with students in instructional activities.
  • Ability to take directions and carry through on own accurately without frequent supervision.
  • Ability to keep accurate student records and charts.
  • Must be flexible and adapt easily to change and interruption.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Right Response training is preferred.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work as part of the teaching team following the lesson plans and guidance of the teacher.
  • Work with individual students and small groups for whom learning is difficult in a variety of work areas including tables and carpeted floor areas.
  • Assist in teaching literacy, mathematics and writing.
  • Work with students in a positive, nurturing manner; assist with behavior management.
  • Work with students requiring individual or close attention, read to children, listen to their recitation, and suggest improvements.
  • Must be able to speak clearly, annunciate and pronunciate English language correctly.
  • Assist teachers in supervisory tasks and administering tests as assigned.
  • Assume responsibility and work on own without frequent supervision.
  • Supervise students at recess and maintain a harmonious atmosphere on the playground.
  • Maintain a constant vigilance for safety, both in how children play and the condition of the play equipment that they use.
  • Other such job-related tasks as may be assigned.
  • Maintain a record of punctuality, dependability, and consistent attendance.
