Job Summary: The Adult Day Program (ADP Coordinator) reports to the Recreation & Community Partnerships Director and is responsible for daily management and oversight of the Adult Day Program which serves community members and Longview residents/tenants. Successful candidates will be friendly, kind, person-centered, focused on a high quality of life for all residents/tenants, and possess knowledge of changing interests, health challenges, abilities, motivations, attitudes, and needs of individuals who are aging.
Schedule Considerations: Monday-Thursday 8a-4:30p (32 hrs/wk). Occasional evenings or weekends possible, dependent upon programming.
Compensation: $19.45/hour

Requirements:Typical job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop, prepare for, and implement programming in accordance with Longview policies and procedures;
- Ensure ADP programming is in compliance with New York State Department of Health Regulations for Adult Care Facility Program for Non-Residents.
- Prepare monthly and year-end reports/reviews with the Director;
- Maintain records system in accordance with NYS DOH regulations and Longview policies and procedures;
- Manage program budget and carry out fiscal management practices;
- Serve as liaison between ADP and the community;
- Collaborate with Director and HR to recruit, hire, and supervise Adult Day Program Assistants and volunteers;
- Together with ADP Assistants, plan and carry out daily scheduled programs;
- Recruit and enroll participants, maintaining a waiting list;
- Coordinate and oversee admissions and discharge procedures;
- Lead staff in the development/update of plans of care and carry out daily scheduled programs, updating plans as participant needs change;
- Monitor and immediately convey changes in participant physical or mental status to family members, and if necessary, emergency responders;
- Supervise participants and assist them with meeting personal needs, as required;
- Adhere to Ithacare risk management practices and assist Director in developing and implementing practices to minimize risk of personal injury, loss of life, damage to buildings/grounds, furnishings, and equipment;
- Participate in continuing education related to older adults, therapeutic recreation, and other relevant topics;
- Perform duties in a timely manner and within approved time frames;
- Deliver exemplary customer service, exhibiting professionalism, honesty, and respect;
- Maintain a positive attitude;
- Maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, supervisors, residents, and other stakeholders;
- Complete mandatory training and/or routine training per Longview policy and applicable law (e.g. HIPAA, Abuse Prevention and Intervention, Residents' Rights, Ethics, Dementia, Emergency Preparedness, etc.);
- Participate in risk management training and adhere to risk management procedures pertinent to the department, particularly in regard to reporting accidents/injuries.
- Report any/all accidents to the Director and complete appropriate documentation;
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, coordinator, and/or manager.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required;
- Minimum Associate's Degree required in recreation, human services, gerontology, or related healthcare field required OR 2 years of direct experience working with older adults or managing recreation programs for aging individuals;
- Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
- Knowledge of leadership, group dynamics, and recreation skills;
- Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and with empathy to build rapport and achieve high quality of service;
- Ability to establish priorities and work independently or in a group;
- Experience with employee supervision preferred;
- Satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical required.
