Facilities Technician (FT M-F 8:00a-4:30p)

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Facility Maintenance and Facility Director, this position will be responsible for performing repairs to and maintenance on the Longview campus including buildings, equipment, driving the Longview bus, and grounds.

Successful candidates will be motivated by customer service and focused on a pleasant, safe living environment for all residents. They will be result-driven and assume ownership of their work with a strong sense of timeliness, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow through and execute projects/tasks quickly and efficiently.

Schedule Considerations: On-call rotation and occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.

Compensation: $18.45-20.45/hour

Typical job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform repairs and maintenance on Longview buildings, equipment, and grounds;
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and tasks;
• Record progress and completion of assigned work utilizing computerized work management system;
• Share on-call responsibilities and other duties as assigned or needed, as business necessitates;
• Drive the Longview bus when needed;
• Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Maintenance supervisor.

• Support the Mission, Values and Vision of Longview and the facility;
• Support, cooperate with, and implement specific procedures and programs pertaining to:
• Safety: including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs;
• Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
• Support and participate in common teamwork:
• Cooperate and work together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment;
• Use tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations;
• Follow up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns;
• Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests;
• Complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform, and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age;
• Understand risk management;
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred;
• Experience in one or all areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, paint, carpentry, grounds care, and snow removal;
• Ability to complete assigned work with minimal supervision and coaching;
• Must have the ability to relate positively and work effectively with other people in a team situation;
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without restrictions.
