What are the responsibilities and job description for the Horticultural Specialist position at Longwood Cricket Club?
Experience and/or Degree in horticulture, landscaping, arboriculture, or related field required.
Expect to be involved in all aspects of maintaining landscaped grounds including, but not limited to: operating specialized equipment, plant acquisition, flower pot design, plant installation, pruning, chemical applications for plant health, irrigation operations, and working with seasonal staff.
Ability and desire to work independently, with the management team, and seasonal grounds staff comprised of all ages and abilities.
The utmost attention to detail is required to provide the highest quality playing surfaces and landscaped grounds achievable.
Start Date is flexible. Typical work schedule is 7am-3pm, 5-7 days per week in the summer and shoulder seasons, with more overtime shifts available. The club is closed in winter.
Compensation is competitive with equivalent positions at other commercial properties in the area and has an exceptional time off package. Compensation also includes: 401K, performance and holiday bonuses, medical/dental plan, daily lunch provided, uniforms provided, dues to associations and paid travel and fees for conferences, and tennis and pool privileges. The position is also encouraged to volunteer for local green industry events.
