Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized receptionist and billing assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for multiple roles, including front desk reception and scheduling, as well as assisting the office manager in processing patient billing information, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, and managing claims submissions and follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Maintain front desk duties including scheduling, checking patients in and out and collecting copays, answering phones and other administrative duties.
- Accurately enter patient information and billing data into the system
- Review and verify insurance information for accuracy before submitting claims.
- Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, including billing inquiries and payment arrangements via phone systems.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues with insurance companies.
- Maintain organized files of patient records and billing documents in compliance with office policies.
- Type correspondence and documentation as needed to support billing processes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in medical billing or coding is preferred, with familiarity in a clinic environment being a plus.
- Proficiency in using medical billing software desired.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple accounts efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within an office setting.
