Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 21 years old
- Must have a clean Criminal Record
- Must possess valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must have a valid Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms (LTC) Class “A”
- Must have completed a Boston Police Department approved 160 hour SPO training program.
- Knowledge of law enforcement practices and procedures and applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Skill in applying laws, rules and regulations.
- Be able to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime shifts as required – overtime is required
- Ability to communicate and give oral instructions, in English, fluently, in a precise, understandable manner
- The ability to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- The ability to use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Ability to give written instructions in a precise, understandable manner.
- Ability to work accurately with names, numbers, codes, and symbols.
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others.
- Ability to deal tactfully with others.
- Ability to interact with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress.
- Ability to maintain a calm manner in stressful and emergency situations.
- Ability to make decisions and act quickly in dangerous or emergency situations.
