We're looking for a mentor and guide who can help students discover their artistic identities as they develop the skills, artistry, and passion needed for a multi-faceted, entrepreneurial career.Longy is seeking applications for an oboe faculty member who is a leader and a coach, who sees the potential in every student. Candidates should have the skills needed to help students develop their interests and curiosity, prepare a graduate recital, and embark on a career. The candidate's own career should include diverse music-making experiences and projects.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide innovative weekly, hour-long private lessons to undergraduate- and graduate-level musicians, and recitals and provide professional feedback.Creatively incorporate the Longy mission into private lessons : "to prepare musicians to make a difference in the world"Actively recruit high-level undergraduate and graduate oboe students to LongyAttend undergraduate and graduate student admission auditions, student juries, dress rehearsals, and recitals and provide professional feedbackTake steps to raise the profile of the Longy School and its Instrumental Studies DepartmentPropose and teach courses outside of studio lessons if desired, when opportunities ariseQualificationsA qualified candidate must possess an outstanding record as a teacher and performer and must have followed a multi-faceted career path.
