Job Summary
The Deputy Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the legal and administrative functions of the office. This position involves managing clerical tasks, maintaining and managing records of legal documents, licenses, and certificate, helping prepare elections, and assist voters with registration and voting process and working with the public in answering questions, resolving disputes, and providing customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Processing and filing documents quickly and accurately including Marriage License, Minister Credentials, and DBA's.
- Answers telephone and electronic inquiries from government offices, attorneys, and the public.
- Operates computer, scanner, copier and other office machines.
- Processing payments including receipting and balancing cash drawers .
- Covers coworkers as needed and multitasking.
- Data entry using a keyboard.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Strong attention to detail and can follow directions and requests from supervisor.
- Ability to prioritize and switch priorities based on the needs of the office.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor.
- Familiarity with clerical procedures and office management practices is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
As a Deputy County Clerk, you will play a critical role in the operation of your county government by providing support to the Clerk's office.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28,250.00 - $29,250.00 per year
