Project Lead Role
The Project Lead is responsible for planning, managing, and driving investment projects through the complete project pathway, ensuring timely completion within budget and meeting quality standards. This role provides leadership to project teams, builds relationships with vendors and contractors, and interacts with cross-functional teams such as validation engineers, facility management, and operations.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project plans, creating and executing Engineering, Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Qualification phase strategies.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring costs are under control and adapting to changes as needed.
- Ensure safety, quality, and compliance, adhering to internal procedures, specifications, health authority requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate project teams, fostering efficient collaboration among team members.
- Monitor project progress, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Evaluate and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Communicate project status, progress, and issues to partners, including senior management.
- Manage project resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel.
- Negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to project timelines.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related science field.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in project engineering and project management within chemical, API, biochemical, and pharmaceutical industries.
- Broad technical knowledge of various engineering disciplines in the API Pharmaceutical environment, including clean and black utilities, process automation, instrumentation, and civil engineering.
- A task-oriented individual with a proven track record of achieving results and prioritizing objectives.
- Proven experience in cost control and scheduling for investment projects.
- Expertise in engineering aspects of facility design, ensuring cost-effective plants while maintaining compliance.
- Familiarity with modern CQV approaches to minimize time from construction completion to routine production while maintaining compliance.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Visio.
- Good understanding of the CDMO industry and business operations.
- Experience working independently and in a team-oriented environment is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
- Effective influencing skills to communicate with varying levels and functions within the organization.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to solve problems, understand details, and provide practical solutions.
- Strong project management skills.
- Extensive experience in engineering and cGMP manufacturing of chemical and biological APIs.
