The Supervisor, Quality Control will play a crucial role in our ambitious team. Located in Houston, TX, USA, this position offers an outstanding opportunity to contribute to Lonza AG’s world-class standards in healthcare. You will lead a team dedicated to ensuring exceptionally flawless quality control processes.
Key responsibilities:
Generate and modify team schedules to ensure efficient workflow.
Submit yearly purchase orders (POs) for contract hires based on budget approvals from management.
Approve monthly invoices from suppliers for contracted employees.
Facilitate daily management system meetings, including cross-functional and departmental meetings.
Lead and train a team of technicians and analysts, ensuring accurate and timely project completion.
Mentor and develop the team through training programs aimed at improving performance, quality, and efficiency.
Attend regular reviews with contract testing labs for sample forecasting and management of blocking issues.
Coordinate monthly meetings with manufacturing points-of-contact to discuss lessons learned and corrective actions.
Conduct budget reviews and assess purchase requests to mitigate testing delays.
Track and report important metrics to management on a monthly basis.
Conduct performance reviews, set departmental goals, and maintain positive working relationships with customers.
Lead weekly GEMBA walks to ensure audit readiness and general housekeeping.
Key requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in biology, or equivalent experience in Life Sciences.
Proficiency in crafting spreadsheets, maintaining records, and strategic analysis.
Proven success in written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and working in fast-paced environments.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
In-depth knowledge of cGMP principles and ability to suggest corrective actions.
Developing subject matter expertise recognized as reliable by colleagues.
Proficiency in using spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
Prior experience with SAP and TrackWise preferred.
Ability to make decisions based on SOPs and policies, reviewing complex decisions with supervisors.
