Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will assist our Ophthalmologists in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. As an integral part of our practice, you will perform various diagnostic tests, assist with procedures, and provide compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by taking medical history and conducting preliminary tests.
- Assist Ophthalmologists during procedures, including refractometry, ocular imaging, and minor surgical interventions.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and corneal topography.
- Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens use, and post-operative instructions.
- Document patient information, examination findings, and test results accurately in electronic medical records.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and billing procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or in a related field, is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in conducting diagnostic tests and operating ophthalmic equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
