What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trial Attorney - Public Defender position at Lookout Mountain Public Defender Office?
Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Public Defender Office is looking for an upcoming or recent law school graduate or any attorney who has a heart for service and a drive to kick ass in the courtroom. Located in the beautiful mountains of Northwest Georgia, our offices are convenient to hiking trails, rock climbing, lakes, and rivers. We are also a short distance from Chattanooga, Tennessee, a vibrant mid-sized city that offers museums, sporting events, concerts, fine cuisine, and all the cultural attractions of other metropolitan areas in the South.
As a Public Defender in a small town, you will be zealously defending the rights of the rural poor. You will be handling felony cases and will immediately gain courtroom experience. Not only will you be mentored by a team of experienced public defenders who will help you hone your skills, but you will also receive formal pre-trial and trial skills training taught by preeminent attorneys from across the state. Those who are preparing to take, or have recently taken the Georgia bar, or who those who are currently a member of the Georgia bar are encouraged to apply.
