What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Nurse -16 hours per week position at Loomis Institute?
Loomis Chaffee School is seeking experienced nurses to work in our community. We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our team part time for 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with all day-to-day operations of the Health Center.
- Vital signs assessment of students presenting to the Health Center and following standing order/protocols for both inpatients and outpatients.
- Dispensing of medications per orders/protocols.
- Maintain timely communications with appropriate departments/faculty regarding students cared for in the Health Center.
Experience
- Previous experience in school nursing and/or other medical fields. Experience in boarding schools preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic charting
- Ability to build rapport with students and families
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible, dependable, organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate effectively with prescribing physicians, students, parents and faculty.
