About the Role
The Loomis Sayles trading team is structured to maximize our ability to achieve best execution. We are centralized, specialized, integrated and experienced. We have five dedicated trading teams: Global Rates, EM & FX; Credit, Bank Loan & FI Derivatives; Europe/UK Credit; Equity; and Systematic Low Touch. Within each team the specialization is more specific with each trader responsible for trading a particular region, sector or security type. We are an integral part of the investment process which consists of: traders, analysts and portfolio managers working together to generate the best investment ideas for our clients. Best execution is a cornerstone of our responsibilities in Trading, and we make meaningful contributions to alpha generation.
We are currently searching for a trading assistant to work on the Global Rates, EM and FX trading desk.
Job Responsibilities
Provide trading support and assistance to the Global Rates, EM and FX trading desk
Ensure timely and accurate security set-ups (existing and new issues), trade notification, trade confirmation to brokers, and resolution of issues with counterparties and internal stakeholders
Liase with Operations teams including pricing, compliance and settlements to ensure accuracy and integrity
Work collaboratively and proactively with the traders
Accurate maintenance and timely distribution of multiple reports to various departments
Other responsibilities include ad hoc projects as well as assisting with market color, dealer calls and investment teams’ inquiries
Qualifications & Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
3 years of financial services industry experience
Knowledge of fixed income cash pay bonds, domestic and foreign, derivatives and foreign exchange
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work well in a team environment and multi-task
Strong computer skills working with Excel, Bloomberg and other database applications
Quick learner; able to work accurately at a rapid pace with multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong overall fit with the Loomis Sayles culture
Ability to work extended hours when necessary
Special requests on trade activity
Additional Requirements
Strong consideration will be given to the following:
Knowledge of fixed income, derivative and FX settlement process a plus
CFA or MBA (complete or in progress) a plus
