About the Role
The Investment Performance Analyst will work in the Finance Department and report to a Senior Investment Performance Analyst. This person will be responsible for the administrative operations of the firm’s 200 fixed income, equity, and alternative investment composites in compliance with Global Investment Policy Standards (GIPS), including but not limited to assigning and removing accounts from the composites based on contract and guideline review and discussion with key decision makers on the accounts. This role also entails other reporting functions within the Finance Department and beyond, including monitoring any variance in performance across different investment vehicles offered among individual products for our Risk Management and Trust Committees, and reporting to our parent company Natixis.
About the Team
This role joins the GIPS Performance and Global Client Economics team, which includes 10 individuals across GIPS reporting, billing, and pricing. This group is part of the broader Finance & Accounting team which includes over 30 people across Financial Planning, Accounting, Incentive Compensation, Treasury, Financial Systems, Payroll, and Benefits Accounting.
Primary responsibilities:
Serve as subject matter expert and liaison between the marketing, legal, compliance, RFP, and portfolio management teams for all composite related matters
Obtain a comprehensive understanding of the firm's composites and offerings
Develop relationships with portfolio management teams to work together in creating and maintaining accurate composites
Review daily activities posted in our portfolio accounting database and determine if the activity will impact composite inclusion
Monitor Restricted Trading report as well as research excessive cash levels in composite accounts to identify accounts that may have lost discretion
Identify and research new accounts to the firm to determine appropriate composite placement
Roll forward and calculate composites on a monthly basis
Review account return dispersion in composites to identify and investigate outliers
Review representative account performance annually to ensure compliance with SEC marketing rule
Assist with annual GIPS verification and facilitating the annual GIPS Composite Reports update
Assist in the production of quarterly schedules for meetings of the Board of Directors, Risk Management Committee, Trust Committee, Retirement Committee, and Audit Committee
Calculate the unrealized currency gain/loss in all funds that pay monthly dividends and determine the net impact to ordinary income using Sec 988 principles. Work with our parent company Natixis and the respective portfolio management teams to discuss any corrective courses of action, if necessary.
Prepare on a monthly basis a comprehensive account holding summary of distressed securities
Essential Skills and Prior Work Experience:
BS in Finance or Accounting
3-5 years of industry experience
CFA or working towards desirable
Strong knowledge of the GIPS and composite administration is required across all asset classes
Fixed Income knowledge strongly preferred
Working knowledge of CAPS or similar composite software a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong communication and collaborations skills
Ability to navigate in an ambiguous environment and make decisions with conviction
