Varying shifts, weekends included (no late nights)
Summary:
The Café Lead plays a vital role in ensuring the
smooth and efficient daily operations of our café. This position requires a
passionate and customer-oriented individual with strong leadership and
organizational skills. The Café Lead will oversee all aspects of cafe
operations, including customer service, merchandising, food service
coordination, managing café payments, and occasional baking.
Responsibilities:
Oversees day-to-day operations of café, including:
- Ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained
- Managing inventory levels of food, beverages,
and supplies
- Ensuring the café is clean, organized, and
well-maintained at all times
- Creating an inviting and visually appealing café
environment
- Merchandising café products effectively;
Implementing creative displays and promotions to increase sales;
- Coordination with vendors and suppliers to
ensure timely deliveries
- Managing café payments, including processing
credit card transactions and handling cash
- Reconciling daily sales and ensuring accurate
financial records
- Occasionally assisting with baking tasks, such
as preparing pastries, breads, or other baked goods.
Provide all customers with efficient, professional and responsive
service, while communicating with honesty, integrity and respect.
Actively
engage with customers, building rapport and fostering a loyal customer base.
Assists with departmental training.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills
required.
- Proven experience in the food service industry, preferably in a café or coffee shop setting.
- Basic baking experience required.
- Computer skills required; experience with POS
system preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational
skills required.
- Knowledge of food service sanitation standards
and/or food handling and safety certification preferred.
- CPR Certification preferred.
