What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sustainability Coordinator | Full Time Seasonal position at Loon Mountain?
Lead Loon's environmental initiatives and assist in developing sustainable practices across the resort operations. Implement and monitor sustainability programs, track environmental metrics, and engage stakeholders at all levels to promote eco-friendly practices.
Key responsibilities include developing and managing sustainability initiatives, conducting environmental impact assessments, and creating educational programs to promote sustainable practices. Analyze data to track progress toward sustainability goals, prepare reports on environmental performance, research grant funding opportunities and collaborate with various departments to integrate sustainable practices into daily operations.
Responsibilities:- Lead in driving the strategy, direction, activities and culture to address sustainability issues that align with and support business goals.
- Work with other departments on completion of sustainability tasks by setting times, inviting participants, and leading sustainability meetings to gather ideas.
- Initiate and support/lead cross functional implementation of short- and long-term projects
- Monitor success and opportunities of sustainability programming, ensuring the resort meets the set targets.
- Be the point person for sustainability questions, comments, or concerns, from team members or guests.
- Collect and provide an annual report to the NSAA Climate Challenge. This includes total emissions, emissions reduction projects completed, and climate advocacy accomplishments.
- Work with accounting to track energy usage and spending.
- Organize sustainability-focused events for team members and guests.
- Apply for grants from the government and organizations to fund sustainability-focused projects.
- Attend weekly meetings with the other Boyne Sustainability Leads to discuss ongoing efforts at each resort and share ideas and challenges.
- Assist in departments and roles during high traffic times at the resort.
- Track and enter energy bill data and keep up-to-date records.
- Acquire proposals, quotes, and additional resources for sustainability related projects.
- Implement projects that reduce our emissions by assisting other departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
- Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Loon Mountain Resort guests at all times.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
- Drive in accordance with the law and Loon Mountain Resort policies.
