The Fiber Optic Splicer will be responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic networks. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with advanced technical skills and the ability to work independently.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Perform fiber optic splicing and termination for new and existing installations.
Conduct fusion splicing for single-mode and multi-mode fibers.
Test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks using OTDRs, power meters, and other industry-standard tools.
Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints for fiber installations.
Ensure all work complies with company standards, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
Collaborate with project managers and field teams to meet project deadlines.
Document and maintain detailed records of work performed and network configurations.
Education and Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
General Understanding of fiber optic splicing, installation, and maintenance.
High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical certifications in telecommunications or fiber optics (preferred).
Experience in fusion splicing and fiber preparation techniques (preferred)
Understanding of fiber optic theory and network design principles (preferred)
Skilled in the use of OTDRs, fiber identifiers, and other testing equipment (preferred)
Ability to perform splice enclosures and perform splicing of backbone and transit fiber (preferred)
Knowledge of relevant safety standards and best practices (preferred)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Ability to communicate effectively with management, other splicers, and our network construction and design teams.
Ability to pass a drug screen and background test.
$25.00-$45.00 hr. based on experience

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and to talk and hear, and lift 25 pounds or more. The associate must occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
