As a Technical Buyer, you will play a crucial role in our supply chain management, ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services necessary for our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing inventory levels to support production schedules. You will support a growing operation with strategy and responsibility across multiple locations.

Technical Buyer
Job Description:
As a Technical Buyer, you will play a crucial role in our supply chain management, ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services necessary for our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing inventory levels to support production schedules. You will support a growing operation with strategy and responsibility across multiple locations.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Ability read a print, and interpret drawings to source components
- Evaluate and execute all material requirement plans and be responsible for performance of your assigned suppliers and commodity KPIs
- Track material status, maintain data integrity and delivery dates for assigned work, and align forecasts with Production Planning in preparation for production.
- Maintain dependable forecasts of all open purchase orders, considering latest information provided by the supplier, logistics estimates, and other factors
- Review proposals, negotiate prices, develop and maintain best value sourcing and supply base, considering quality, delivery, and cost
- Update and maintain planning parameters within our ERP system for your assigned suppliers and commodities.
- Communicate openly and regularly with supply base on their performance including quality, on-time delivery, and cost metrics.
- Develop methods to improve our purchasing strategies and tactics to further gain efficiencies in our processes, reduce lead time and eliminate non-value-added activities
- Coordinate with the cross-functional teams to effectively communicate areas of concern regarding assigned work
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to further develop the use of the ERP (D365) to purchase, forecast and replenish stock levels
- Utilize Power BI reports as a data source for effective decision making
- Travel to suppliers as necessary to develop strong relationships
- Complete additional related duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 4 years of Purchasing, Procurement, Materials Management or Supply Chain experience is a plus
- Experience using ERP systems, D365 is preferred
- A high level of personal accountability and comfort with decision making.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and computer skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Experience or familiarity with stainless steel is a plus
- APICS CPSM, CPIM, or similar Certification is plus
