Machine Operator-Night Shift

Loparex LLC is the worlds largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone

coated release liners for the converting industry. We have manufacturing operations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. The Iowa City facility has been in operation since 1970 and annually supplies three billion square feet of release liner worldwide. We are currently looking for high energy and motivated individuals to to join our workforce, in the Iowa City facility, as Production Associates.

These positions will be working on a 12 hour night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

DUTIES

This position will entail a variety of duties, primarily assisting in the operation and maintenance of machines and equipment on our production floor. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, strong interpersonal skills, math skills, basic computer skills, ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to stand and walk for 12 hours, and previous manufacturing experience is preferred. Other responsibilities include:

• Assist operator with two person tasks on the machines (ie; loading rolls of paper, threading the paper through the machine, etc)
• Prepares coating formulas and ensures adequate supply of formula exists
• Observe and monitor machine for product defects
• Completes appropriate paperwork for machine
• Keeps machine stocked with supplies
• Set-up work area for the oncoming shift
• Housekeeping/6s duties
• Learn to upgrade as an operator as needed
• Physical requirements include standing/walking for up to 12 hours, lifting, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching out and grasping
• Regular, consistent attendance

Benefits include:

• Work schedule alternates 3 days one week, and 4 days the next. Get paid for 88 hours in a 2 week pay period.
• Hourly rate of $14.00 and 0.30 shift differential.
• Opportunities to promote within the first 6 months and make hourly rate of $18.00 with 0.30 shift differential for night shift

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, high energy, strong interpersonal skills, ability to read, write, follow verbal and written instructions, use basic math and take accurate measurements, make calculations and use hand tools. Candidates must also have basic computer skills, desire to learn, ability to lift 50 pounds and to stand/walk for up to 12 hours, previous manufacturing experience is preferred. A strong commitment to customers, productivity and quality is essential.
