Smokehouse Operator-2nd Shift| $19.55/hr start. After training is completed $22.05/hr.
Lopez Foods in Cherokee, Iowa is searching for a Smokehouse Operator to join our growing company. The perfect candidate for this position would have a strong attention to detail; as it is a crucial skill to this operator role.
The Smokehouse Operator position is a fast-paced position, working 2nd Shift Monday-Friday, 2:30 pm to 12 am. *Please Note: Hours may vary, and occasional weekend work, as needed*

Training/Pay Increases:
Training will take place on 1st shift. After operator training has been completed, the 2nd Shift Smokehouse Operator will receive an increase of $2/hr and a .50 shift differential (for moving to 2nd shift) making the hourly wage $22.05.
After 6 months employment: $22.35/hr
After 12 months-$22.65/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Operators will be responsible for the process steps for operation of the smokehouses; to include but not limited to procedures of loading, taking and recording temperatures, unloading racks of product and weighing racks of finished product.
- Operators must follow all established food safety, safety policies, rules, programs, and practices at all times
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months production/smokehouse experience, preferred
- Attention to detail, required
- Must be forklift certified or able to become certified
- Must be able to be able to work in temperatures of 38-40 degrees
- Must be able to stand in one place for up to 8 hours per day
