What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Career and Academic Advisement Professional position at Lorain County Community College?
Reporting to the Director, Enrollment Management and Student Services, and under the leadership of the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services the LCCC Career and Academic Advisement Professionals have a variety of duties that contribute to the educational advisement, career and employment readiness of students in defined categories. The CAAP will help students determine, discover, design and create a pathway to their academic career and completion goals. The incumbent will take a holistic approach to the development of the student from initial admission, placement, academic advising, and knowledge of financial aid, success coaching, and career coaching. Emphasis will include knowledge of experiential learning and other proven strategies to create a student experience that culminates in degree completion and career transition. In addition, the Career Academic Advising Professional will assist students in creating an individualized career and academic plan that details courses required to meet the student’s completion goals. Working with students in a proactive and student-centered approach with excellent customer service skills is a daily part of the position. One evening a week is required and some Saturdays during peak Enrollment season.
