Automation Maintenance Technician Program Instructor

Lorain County Joint Vocational JVS Adult Career Center is in search for a part time as needed Instructor with a solid background in industrial maintenance. Background and experience in the following areas is helpful: Introduction to Supply Chain Automation, Practicing Safety in the Workplace, Types of PPE, HIM Operation, Programmable Controller Operation, PLC Ethernet Communication, Basic PLC Program Instructions, Control Logic Circuits, Electrical Control Diagrams, Relay Control Circuits, Based on MSSC CTSCA-ER Curriculum. Candidate will receive MSSC Instructor Training.

The instructor will also be responsible for maintaining the program advisory committee as well as helping with student placement upon completion of the program.

There may be additional class opportunities with customized and contract training for business and industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years experience in the field
• Must pass a background check
• Must be willing to get MSSC training
• Desire to teach and work in a team environment

Desirable Qualifications:

• 
  Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities
• Prior teaching experience with adults
• Prior knowledge of the MSSC curriculum
• Flexible Schedule

Description: Teach the appropriate course of study by using a variety of instructional techniques that meet individual learning styles.

• Attend meetings and in-services as required
• Recommend long-term adjustments, changes, additions, and deletions in the career-technical education program
• Maintain working relationship with community and state agencies and area businesses, industries, and labor organizations in order to provide appropriate training
• Ensure safety of students
• Work to identify and define local job opportunities and the role of the schools in meeting these opportunities
• Coordinate all work components
• Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, parents, and community
• Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., cumulative folders and IEP's
• Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
• Responsible for the collection, review, and submission of all forms and reports relative to career-technical education to appropriate state agencies
• Assist in disciplinary procedures and actions and record keeping
• Coordinate requests for repairs to lab equipment
• Oversee the distribution and inventory control of all supplies and equipment used by vocational students
• Maintain membership in and participate in the affairs of professional societies devoted to the advancement of vocational education
• Assist in the recruitment of students
• Establish an advisory committee
• Coordinate the gathering, selecting, and analysis of data with respect to jobs available
