Description : Teach the appropriate course of study for each subject area including employability skills by using a variety of instructional techniques that meet individual learning styles.

Essential Functions :
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the student
- Ensure safety of students
- Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a good learning environment
- Judiciously discipline students when necessary
- Prepare clear and timely lesson plans
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required
- Membership and participation in the appropriate Advisory Committee
- Instruct appropriate employability skills
- Provide guidance to students which will promote their welfare and their proper educational
development
Attend teacher / parent conferencesMaintain appropriate parental contactProvide complete lesson plans for a substituteRefer students suspected of learning difficulties to the intervention assistance teamCollaborate with colleaguesTeach and evaluate the students using sound instructional practicesParticipate in mentoring as an entry year teacherAttend meetings and in-services as requestedInteract in a positive manner with parents, students, and staffTeach new concepts and facilitate different activities enabling students to learn in differentways
