What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Intern position at Lorain County Metropolitan Park District?
Description
The Outreach Intern is expected to assist with recreational and educational programs conducted by Lorain County Metro Parks. The Outreach Intern will be responsible for developing a variety of recreational and educational opportunities geared toward underserved populations throughout Lorain County. The Outreach Intern will also assist, as needed, by answering phones, responding to public inquiries, and providing general park information. Duties are performed under the direction of the Outreach Coordinator.
Pay Rate:$12.50 per hour.
Seasonal employees can work a maximum of 120 days within 6 months, and up to 39 hours per week.
Requirements
Individuals studying or with employment backgrounds in the following areas are encouraged to apply: Public Service, Occupational Therapy, Public Administration, Human Services, Social Service, Non-profit Administration, Diversity & Inclusion, and roles or educational tracts geared toward individuals with exceptionalities and barriers.
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be willing to work during the week, weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
- Physically able to lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
- Personable, outgoing, and possess a positive cooperative attitude.
- Willing to and able to work with people of varying backgrounds and abilities
- Valid Ohio driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
New employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. Lorain County Metropolitan Park District policy prohibits hiring new employees who are tobacco users.
