What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visitor Service Technician (Ranger) - Black River Reservation position at Lorain County Metropolitan Park District?
Description
Renders aid and assistance and information services to park visitors to protect and preserve the lands and facilities of the Park District. Enforces Lorain County Metropolitan Park District rules and regulations and the laws of the State of Ohio. Performs a variety of semiskilled and unskilled labor jobs in maintenance.
Requirements
1. Enforces Park regulations and the laws of the State of Ohio, including parking and motor vehicle operations and parking regulations.
2. Performs the same duties as a Park Maintenance Worker II and III.
3. Directs traffic and performs crowd control.
4. Investigates traffic accidents.
5. Investigates suspicious activities, apprehends violators, and makes arrests.
6. Accompany prisoners to the county jail to be booked on charges.
7. Secures park buildings and gates.
8. Operates patrol boat as assigned.
9. Performs related duties as apparent or assigned.
Pay Rate: $15 to $18, commensurate with experience
Temporary employees can work up to 28 hours per week.
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy Certification. New employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. Lorain County Metropolitan Park District policy prohibits hiring new employees who are tobacco users.
