Lorain/Medina Community Based Correctional Facility is a alternative sentencing option for non-violent felony offenders who would otherwise be sentenced to prison. This facility currently houses 100 adult male felony offenders and 30 adult female felony offenders.
Lorain/Medina C.B.C.F. currently has full-time and part-time Resident Advisors positions available. Under the direct supervision of the Operations Director the Resident Advisor I is directly responsible for observing and monitoring the movements of residents and others throughout the facility and it's premises; maintaining facility in a safe, sanitary, secure and orderly condition; supervising residents in accordance with rules and regulations performs other related duties as required. Part-Time On-Call Resident Advisors may work any shift to cover for call-offs and pre-approved staff leave for a operating correctional facility 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Position starts at $20.00 per hour with the potential of being offered full time upon availability. High school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
2 years working experience in a correctional facility or related experience. Computer skills required.
Must internalize and support the program as a positive adult role model.
Must convey a strong interest in being involved in offender rehabilitation.
Ability to recognize unusual and/or threatening conditions and take appropriate action.
Ability to maintain records and prepare routine reports.
Ability to work under stressful and demanding conditions.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to effectively manage time and organize workload.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, the community, etc.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to plan, organize, train, and direct work of residents in completion of their assigned housekeeping duties.
Skill in problem resolution.
Adult CPR/AED & First Aid certification helpful.
Valid Ohio Driver's License required.
