Job Title: Cost Accountant
FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Manager, Cost Accounting
Flex Work Eligible: This position qualifies for the Flexible Work Policy. Employees receive 75 workdays annually to work remotely. The initial number of days is prorated for the first year based on start date.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE
Responsible for organizing, analyzing, reconciling and reporting Loram’s cost data supporting Loram’s financial accounting, managerial accounting and corporate governance functions globally.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Financial Accounting
- Responsible for month-end general ledger entries including inventory, PP&E construction in progress, accrued liabilities and cost of goods sold.
- Responsible for preparing balance sheet account reconciliations for inventory, PP&E construction in progress and accrued liabilities.
- Maintain ERP master data related to product costing.
- Calculate and review standard costs for reasonableness.
- Maintain and support strong relationships with business partners to promote a collaborative understanding of Loram’s global business processes and financial information.
Corporate Governance
- Assist with maintaining corporate accounting global policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report compliance with applicable corporate global policies and procedures.
- Support the development and automation of preventative controls and exception reporting.
- Monitor cycle count activity and conduct regular cycle count audits.
- Perform periodic testing of 3rd party inventory balances.
- Assist with project budget approvals; monitor and report actual project performance to budget.
- Work directly with auditors on year-end audit requests for the inventory and manufacturing areas.
Managerial Accounting
- Responsible for preparing periodic standard internal business reports and dashboards for business partners including performance metrics, budget variances and process exception reporting.
- Assist in the development and optimization of business and accounting processes.
- Support the development and automation of insightful and actionable internal reporting.
- Assist with project post-mortem analysis.
- Provide support for annual budgeting and product standard costing processes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
Experience: 2 years of Cost Accounting experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Advanced Degree in Accounting/Finance, CMA/CPA
Experience: 4 years of Cost Accounting experience with integrated ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
3 – 4 years of general Accounting experience will be considered in lieu of 2 years of Cost Accounting experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- US GAAP technical accounting skills; experience with interpreting and applying US GAAP accounting guidelines.
- Familiarity with best practice accounting controls.
- Proficient in reconciling and supporting account balances and performing journal entries.
- Variance recognition and analysis.
- Improve and automate processes.
- General system skills (Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, Workday Adaptive).
- Adaptable and accustomed to working in fast-paced environments.

Loram determines compensation based on factors such as skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. Certain positions may be eligible for an annual bonus and paid time off in addition to base compensation.
Starting pay for the position is between $60,807.16 - $76,008.95
