Flex Work Eligible! This position qualifies for the Flexible Work Policy. Employees receive 75 workdays annually to work remote! The initial amount of days is prorated for the first year based on start date.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Planning & Performance Data Analyst works with customers and others to determine the best utilization of equipment from internal and external data sources to facilitate best practices, effective decision making, and equipment utilization. The Planning & Performance Data Analyst is responsible for processes related to the analysis, integrity, and reporting of data used for planning future work and tracking past performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Analytical Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, GIS or related area
Experience: 1-2 years of programming skills and experience familiarity with R. Python, BVA, and/or MATLAB. Knowledge of SQL and ArcGIS is a plus

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Analytical Skills
- Assists Loram Chief Engineer and client management team with predictive modelling, budget forecasting, scenario analysis.
- Updates and maintain web-based reporting application reporting.
- Assists Chief Engineer Rail Quality and assist in scheduling, experimentation, program assessment, and technical assistance to customers (consulting).
- Monitors key performance indicators for select equipment in the fleet and report on outliers and trends.
- Validates effectiveness of data measured and collects and compiles improvement recommendations. Establishes and maintains processes to track work compared to expected plans using a variety of data sources.
- Supports and/or encourages railroads efforts in justifying and expanding budgets for Loram’s services.
- Provides recommendations to Loram and railroad management to improve maintenance programs.
- Recommend process/product improvements.
- Supports and/or encourages railroads’ efforts in justifying and expanding budgets for Loram’s products and services.
- Ensures data integrity from multiple input sources.
- Assists railroad customer in managing the grind program.
