Job Description : Job Title : Production Supervisor\n FLSA Status : Exempt\n Department : Manufacturing\n Reports to : Value Stream Leader\n GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE : \n The Production Supervisor directly supervises up to 25 employees. Manages multiple complex priorities while leading a team. Assists with the execution of production plans while ensuring the safety of all employees and collaborates on the development of standard work procedures to ensure quality products prior to validation.\n ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : \n Manufacturing Processes\n\nDirect supervision of shop employees executing assembly processes. Assist with support and direction to the production floor\nUnderstand Union contract within acceptable guidelines and past practices\nAssist with the coaching and development of resources to meet business objectives\n\n Production Planning and Supervision\n\nInterpret specifications, blueprints, and shop orders to workers, and assigns duties\nCreate daily schedules to align available resources with the production plan\nAssist with adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product\nParticipate in changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew\nAnalyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems\nAssist with Coordinating resource needs with the production team\nDevelop relationships with all internal and external resource groups to resolve delays during production\nEstablish routines and meet performance expectations concerning coaching and discipline, employee reviews, timekeeping records, enterprise resource planning system (ERP), and employee records.\n\n Safety Management\n\nPromote safety awareness and assist with safety training\nInterpretation of company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations\nEnsure job and safety briefings are conducted\n REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS : \n Education : High School Diploma or equivalent\n Experience : 2 years in a manufacturing role. 1 years' experience in the development and implementation of standard work procedures. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or 2 years of experience working with Loram manufacturing / equipment.\n Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : \n\nA working knowledge of railroads, transportation, heavy construction, or combination.\nKnowledge of or ability to quickly become familiar with Railroad products and services, particularly pertaining to the maintenance of track and structures.\nKnowledge of computers and software with good word processing skills using Microsoft applications.\nGood personal presentation skills\n\n PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : \n Education : Associate Degree in Electrical, Fluid Power, or technical certification in a skilled trade.\n Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : \n\nLeadership training and certifications\n\n Licenses / Certifications : Maintain railroad safety training and certifications.
