As a Rail Equipment Maintenance Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating and maintaining Loram's specialized rail maintenance equipment. This involves performing hands-on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance, including inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. You will collaborate with teammates to ensure optimal equipment performance and adherence to safety standards. Effective communication is crucial, requiring strong verbal and written skills, as well as proficiency in English.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and no prior rail experience (training will be provided). Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with a positive attitude, work ethic, and eagerness to learn and grow. Commitment to safety and industry standards is also required.
What to Expect
As a Rail Equipment Maintenance Operator, you can expect to travel extensively, rotating through field assignments lasting 6-8 weeks. Long workdays (12 hours) and physically demanding tasks are common, involving extensive walking, climbing, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and working in confined spaces or at heights. However, this role offers unique opportunities to develop in-demand skills and advance your career in a supportive team environment.
Physical Requirements
