JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: High School Ministry Director
Department: Children, Youth and Family
Position Summary:
To develop, lead and coordinate a dynamic and effective ministry that aligns with Lord of Life Ends Policies and Mission Statement along with CYF Mission and Vision and Best Practices for 9th-12th graders and their families.
Reports To: Children, Youth and Family Executive Director
Status: Full-time
FLSA: Exempt
Hours Worked Per Week: 40
Essential Functions:
9th Grade Confirmation Ministry
- Work with CYF Executive Director and Middle School Ministry Director to evaluate, plan and maintain programming and curriculum, including small group curriculum, and volunteer programming, with clear goals and objectives.
- Full responsibility for implementation and maintenance of 9th grade C3 program, which includes, but not limited to:
- Supervision of upkeep of 9th grade confirmation student records.
- Recruiting and supporting ministry leaders.
- Wednesday/Sunday night C3 times.
- C3 Retreats
High School Ministry
- Work with CYF Executive Director to determine and develop and lead strategic ministry for grade 9-12. Create, recruit, and implement levels of engagement opportunities for high school youth that occur throughout the year.
- Work with CYF team on youth leadership development.
Ministry of Presence
- Present at all program times, unless otherwise determined in conjunction with CYF Executive Director
- Build relationships with youth, families and volunteers.
Administrative Responsibilities
- weekly team meetings
- full staff meetings
- check ins as scheduled with the CYF Executive Director
- work with other staff members to ensure accurate communication of upcoming event programs to the congregation
- communicate and promote program to congregation, youth and staff
- complete financial paperwork in a timely manner and maintain High School budget
Other duties as assigned

Education / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry or related field.
- Previous experience working with high school youth.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the Lutheran confessions.
- Membership in Lord of Life is strongly recommended.
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Demonstrated ability to be relational with students, parents, and adult volunteers
- Experience recruiting adult volunteers
- Strong organizational skills required
