Job Title: Summer Program Assistant/Intern 2025
Position Summary: To simultaneously provide support for Lord of Life’s summer CYF Ministry and provide interns with educational and leadership experience with an opportunity for vocational reflection.
Department: Children, Youth, and Family
Reports to: Children, Youth, and Family Executive Director and Respective Ministry Director
Supervises: N/A
Status: Part-time
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hours Worked Per Week:
- 30-40 hours from May 30 – August 20 or as scheduled/determined.
- Available to work Sunday mornings, weekdays and some weeknights.
- Available for scheduled summer programming.
Summer Program Dates:
- Summer Stretch:
- Staff Training: Monday, June 9th, 8am-8pm
- Wednesdays: June 11, 18, 25, July 9, 16, 23
- Thursdays: June 12, 19, 26, July 10, 17, 24
- Preschool/Kindergarten Vacation Bible School:
- Volunteer Training: Sunday, June 18 – afternoon
- June 16-19 and June 23-26
- Elementary Adventure Vacation Bible School
- Staff/Volunteer Training: Sunday, July 20
- July 21-24, July 28-31, August 4-7
Essential Functions (4 separate positions available)
Early Childhood Ministry Summer Program Assistant/Intern 2025
- Preschool Vacation Bible School (VBS) – assume a leadership role in planning and implementation.
- Elementary Adventure VBS – serve as a counselor.
- Summer Sundays – plan and lead Summer Church School sessions as scheduled.
- Summer Stretch – provide support as scheduled.
- Other programs as assigned.
Elementary Ministry Summer Program Assistant/Intern 2025
- Elementary Adventure Vacation Bible School (VBS) – assume a leadership role in planning and implementation.
- Summer Stretch – provide support as scheduled.
- Preschool VBS – teach at a station.
- Summer Sundays – plan and lead Summer Church School sessions as scheduled.
- Other programs as assigned.
Middle School Ministry Summer Program Assistant/Intern 2025
- Summer Stretch – assume a leadership role in planning and implementation.
- Elementary Adventure Vacation Bible School (VBS) – provide support as scheduled.
- Preschool VBS – provide support as scheduled.
- Summer Sundays – plan and lead Summer Church School sessions as scheduled.
- Other programs as assigned.
Youth Leadership Ministry Summer Program Assistant/Intern 2025
- Leadership Development – assume a leadership role in training and supporting youth volunteers in CYF summer programs.
- Summer Stretch – provide support as scheduled.
- Elementary Adventure Vacation Bible School (VBS) – provide support as scheduled.
- Preschool VBS – provide support as scheduled.
- Summer Church School – plan and lead Summer Church School sessions as scheduled
- Other programs as assigned.
Principal Functions:
- Provide general support for Lord of Life’s Children, Youth, and Family Ministry.
- Participate in regular CYF team meetings and Lord of Life staff meetings.
- Meet regularly with the Director and specific supervisor for accountability and training.
- Assist in preparation for fall programming as needed for various program areas.

Education/Qualifications: High school graduate
Experience/Knowledge:
- Minimum of one year post high school.
- Previous experience working with children and families.
