Job Summary
We are seeking a local dedicated and passionate Animal Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be moving to or already living in SWFL; Candidate will have a strong background in animal care and training, with the ability to work with dogs. This role involves developing training programs, providing behavioral assessments, and ensuring the overall well-being of the animals in our care. The Animal Trainer will play a crucial role in enhancing the relationship between animals and their owners through effective training techniques. Bilingual is a plus.
Duties
- Willing to travel between Marco Island, Naples and Bonita Springs
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to individual animal needs.
- Conduct behavioral assessments to identify specific training requirements.
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to train animals in obedience, and specialized tasks.
- Provide guidance to pet owners on proper handling and training methods.
- Maintain accurate records of each animal’s progress and behavior with company app.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all animals and handlers under care.
- Participate in educational workshops or community outreach programs to promote responsible pet ownership.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of pet care practices.
- Experience as a veterinary technician, dog walker and trainer are preferred.
- Proficiency in dog training methodologies and equine handling is preferred but not required.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and effective communication skills when working with animals and their owners.
- Capability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of animal training.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
