Reports to: Front of House Manager
Position Summary
The Host is responsible for creating a welcoming and organized first impression for guests at Lorena by warmly greeting each guest, managing reservations and walk-ins, clearly communicating table status with the team, and ensuring smooth and thoughtful guest seating. This role also includes handling phone-based tasks with professionalism, maintaining cleanliness and ambiance throughout the restaurant, promptly addressing guest inquiries and concerns, and staying informed about the menu and restaurant layout. The Host must demonstrate hospitality, clear communication, adaptability, teamwork, and attention to detail in all aspects of their role.

Essential Functions Statement:
- Greet each guest with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm upon arrival.
- Responsible for managing waitlists, reservations, and walk-ins using our designated process.
- Communicate clearly with Servers, Managers, and Server Assistants about table status and flow.
- Guide each guest to their dining tables with awareness of pace and accuracy in rotation for Servers.
- Manage phone-based tasks such as reservations, parking, general information, and memos with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Monitor dining areas, entry, restrooms, common seating areas, shelves, books, and decor to maintain a clean, organized and inviting atmosphere.
- All guest inquiries, special requests, or concerns are brought to your manager immediately and handled with grace and urgency.
- Maintain knowledge of menu, allergies, specials, and layout of Lorena.

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a Restaurant kitchen setting. The candidate who fills this role can expect to work in a busy dining room with a lot of activity. The work environment is often loud and fast-paced with the majority of the shift spent on your feet.
