Job Title: Lighting Services Engineer / Distribution Specialist

Location: Montgomery , AL

Job Summary:

Utility Client is seeking a qualified Engineer or Distribution Specialist with a strong technical background to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in engineering, distribution, or transmission, with a preference for those with prior utility co-op experience. This role requires independent work, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle fieldwork in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform distribution system assessments and lighting design as needed.
• Utilize utility-specific programs and Microsoft Office tools for reporting and documentation.
• Conduct fieldwork, including walking on uneven terrain and working in varying weather conditions.
• Use basic tools (e.g., hammering stakes) for field operations.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• Education: Engineering or other technical degree preferred.
• Experience:
• Utility co-op or distribution/transmission experience is highly desirable.
• Experience with utility lighting design is a plus.
• Skills & Requirements:
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Above-average proficiency in Microsoft Office and utility-specific computer programs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (car or truck required).
• Physical capability to work in extreme temperatures and walk on uneven terrain.
