Loretta's Little Miracles' is seeking Full-time and Part-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to work 12-hour shifts.
POSITION SUMMARY:
An individual directly responsible for the clinical operations of the facility. Responsible for initiating and maintaining compliance with all Federal and State regulations governing Pediatric Day Health Care & Respite facilities. Ensures compliance with Loretta’s Little Miracles policy and procedures. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all reimbursement guidelines. Participates in program development and implementation.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Nursing Director or his/her Designee
Position Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current State license in good standing as an LVN.
- Nursing experience as defined by Federal, State, and facility regulations.
- Current Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) Card. Additional certifications may be required dependent upon specialty or facility requirements.
- Ability to spend approximately 20% of time sitting, 50% of time standing, and 30% of time walking.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Sufficient endurance to perform the required physical and mental tasks over long periods of time.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination).
- Knowledge of proper response should exposure occur to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious or hazardous materials.
- Ability to work as a member of a team, including but not limited to managing stress appropriately, making decisions under pressure, and handling multiple priorities.
- Ability to manage anger/fear/hostility/violence of self and others.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations preferred.
- Leadership capabilities with strong supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented, flexible, good organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of cost management for clinical services.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facility Obligations:
- Organize and direct the clinical operations.
- Enforce and demonstrate compliance with all State and Federal regulations and Loretta’s Little Miracles policy and procedure.
- Identify clinical program needs and present them to the Director/Designee.
- Ensure communication procedures and systems are in place to coordinate the implementation of each client's Plan of Care. Ensure appropriate utilization and the coordination of necessary services to achieve comprehensive care.
- Communicate all occurrences and other client information to the Director/Designee.
- Promote and promulgate the philosophy, goals, mission, and culture of Loretta’s Little Miracles.
Facility Responsibilities:
- Read and analyze technical reports and data (e.g. lab and diagnostic reports), policy and procedure manuals, written physician's orders, and safety manuals, as well as a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Respond to inquiries and complaints from physicians, clients, family/visitors, colleagues, and other health care providers and supervisors.
- Present written and verbal education and direction to patients, family, licensed and unlicensed staff.
- Utilize and calculate fractions, percentages, volume, ratios, and proportions, as well as apply basic algebraic concepts to practical situations (e.g. drug calculations, infusion rate calculations)in the course of daily assignments.
- Establish effective relationships with clients, physicians, families/visitors, coworkers and superiors.
- Provide professional, respectful, and compassionate care to all clients.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care provided to all clients.
- Recognize changing client conditions and emergency situations and appropriately intervene.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the client.
- Display a working knowledge of disease pathophysiology, common diagnostic tests and procedures, as well as treatment plans.
- Provide direct care to clients with a wide variety of diagnoses, conditions, and diseases through ongoing contact throughout the assignment/shift.
- Administer medications according to established medication administration principles, physician orders, and facility policy and procedures.
- Review, interpret, transcribe, and carry out physician orders.
- Maintain a safe environment for all clients.
- Operate all client equipment and devices according to operating instructions and facility policy.
- Provide legible, clear written, or electronic documentation of all client care provided, medications administered, and the patient's response to care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information in accordance with facility's policies and procedures.
- Follows the Plan of Care and Re-certification process.
- Complete timely and accurate communication and documentation as it relates to referrals, authorizations, and eligibility (State funded programs, Medi-Cal, and third party payors).
- Communicate with case managers (State funded programs, Medi-Cal, third-party payors) clinical updates, and continuing authorizations and re-verification of eligibility.
- Review admission and follow-up documentation within established time frames (24 hours for initial paperwork).
- Orient and complete competency assessment of staff.
- Utilize Loretta’s Little Miracles policy and procedure manuals.
- Assure appropriate billing and inventory controls are in place for supplies.
- Encourage client, family, and/or responsible adult to achieve optimum physical and mental health through support and education.
- Comply with and participate in the continuing quality improvement and utilization review organizational services.
- Participate in performance reviews and clinical staff development per facility policy.
- Appropriately reports incidents, injuries, infection, and all other untoward occurrences.
- Participate in current programs and in new program development.
- Participate in a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness Plan.
- Maintain appropriate education and competence related to all Information Systems processes.

Pay: $27.00 - $36.00 per hour
