SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking highly motivated Concrete Finishers & Laborers to join our growing concrete business based in Dillsburg, PA. Work is primarily in Central PA and surrounding areas.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Inspects and verifies the construction of concrete forms to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity
- Sets up concrete forms to the specified pitch, depth, and alignment accurately
- Installs rebar or wire mesh to enhance the structural integrity of the concrete
- Utilizes various tools such as rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, and floats to spread level, and smooth concrete surfaces
- Monitors environmental conditions including wind, heat, or cold to effectively manage the curing process and achieve a durable, smooth, and uniform finish
- Installs anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures when/as needed
- Finishes concrete surfaces with rough or smooth patterns
- Shapes expansion joints and edges using appropriate tools such as edging tools, jointers, and straightedges
- Removes edges on expansion joints and sides
- Coordinates and signals with truck drivers to ensure proper positioning for concrete pouring and direct the concrete chute accordingly
- Operates power vibrators to compact concrete efficiently
- Adheres strictly to established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Performs additional tasks and duties as required to support project requirements
- Follows all company rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age
- Possesses a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to reach assigned job sites
- 2 years of construction experience, specifically in concrete work
- Performs physical activities requiring significant use of arms, legs, and full body movement, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and material handling
- Understands and complies with both oral and written instructions
- Maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, subcontractors, vendors, and others encountered during work
- Executes various manual tasks for extended periods, even in unfavorable weather conditions
- Arrives punctually for work with all necessary tools prepared
- Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening
