About the Role:
An Informatica Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Informatica platform, ensuring its stability, security, and optimal performance, including tasks like installation, configuration, user management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Here's a more detailed breakdown of the responsibilities and requirements:
Responsibilities:
Platform Management:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain the Informatica platform (e.g., Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), PowerCenter, Data Quality, etc.) across different environments (development, QA, production).
User Administration:
- Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and security settings within the Informatica platform.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization:
- Monitor system health, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance. Troubleshooting and Support:
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, provide support for incidents and user queries, and debug production issues.
Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Informatica repositories and configurations.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and best practices.
Security:
- Implement and maintain security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
Collaboration:
- Work with other IT teams (e.g., systems administrators, DBAs, network administrators) to ensure smooth operations. Process Improvement:
- Identify, develop, implement, review, and revise process improvements, procedures, and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Informatica products and technologies. Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with Hadoop integration.
- Experience with Snowflake Integration.
- Experience with Salesforce Integration.
- Familiarity with SQL and other database technologies.
- Experience with Linux and Shell scripting experience.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools. Experience with Azure and AWS platforms.
- Basic experience with Python
