BILLING AND SERVICE SPECIALIST - UTILITIES

SUPERVISOR: Billing & Customer Service Supervisor or Designee

Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the Billing & Customer Service Supervisor or designee, provides a wide range of customer service and support to customers, community members, and employees of Los Alamos County. Sets up new services and accounts, makes changes in services, performs billing, collects incoming county revenues for services and property taxes, and follows up on delinquent accounts. Responds to customer inquiries regarding County services and utility accounts. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Three years of experience in related customer service which may have included billing or financial duties, administrative support, preparing correspondence, maintaining databases and records, working directly with the general public, state and local agencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of Los Alamos County services, programs, and geography.
• Notary Public of the State of New Mexico
• Utility, customer service or billing experience
