Under limited direction of the Public Works Director, manages, plans, and organizes the various division staff and operations of the Public Works Department. Provides expert professional assistance and policy guidance to public works director and county management. Fosters cooperative relationships with citizens and civic groups on public works matters. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture or related field.
- Seven years of experience in public works or civil engineering, or other related engineering field.
- Three years of management and supervisory experience required across all years of job related experience.
- Must possess or have ability to obtain within first sixty days of employment and must maintain a valid New Mexico Class D driver’s license.
- Successful completion of the County’s Need to Know training within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture or related field.
- Registered New Mexico Professional Engineer.
- New Mexico Architecture License.
- Experience with capital facilities construction and maintenance programs.
