RECREATION LEADER
JOB TITLE: Recreation Leader, Sr. Recreation Leader
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Community Services/Parks Recreation and Open Space
Recreation Leader Pay Range $15.52 - $25.27 per hour.
Sr. Recreation Leader Pay Range $16.30 - $26.54 per hour.
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the designated supervisor, schedules and conducts day-to-day recreation activities and special events, programs, and assures the safety of participants. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six months’ experience in recreation programs, customer service or youth leadership.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess or have ability to obtain within first sixty days of employment and must maintain a valid New Mexico Class D driver’s license. (Temporary positions must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire.)
- Must possess or have ability to obtain within thirty days of employment, and must maintain Community CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
- Must successfully complete a thorough background investigation.
Additional Qualifications for Sr. Recreation Leader:
- Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation, Education or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- One year experience in a lead capacity across all years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children and youth.
- Experience with pre-season ice rink preparations and driving an ice resurfacing machine.
- Certified Ice Technician (CIT).
