SUMMARY
Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and other GATE teachers to provide enrichment and extension activities to gifted students in both pull-out and inclusion settings. Provide gifted strategies for curriculum differentiation to classroom teachers and support school-wide implementation through consultation and modeling.
Essential Duties:
- Schedule regular services and if service is intermittent, log student contact and activities.
- Provide regular contact with all identified gifted services including developing annual IEP goals.
- Regularly monitor progress on IEP goals and provide quarterly progress reports to parents.
- Make regular contact with all of the students' teachers who provide instruction in the general curriculum to consult on curriculum differentiation for gifted students and monitor student progress.
Qualifications/Licensure:
- NMPED K-8 Elementary Teaching License or Any NM Instructional Teaching license with gifted endorsement or NM Special Education Teaching License
- Teaching experience in an elementary/middle school setting with gifted students is preferred; strong collaboration skills; effective communications skills; familiarity with the IEP process for gifted students; understanding of various models for serving gifted and talented students is preferred.
1.00 FTE- 8 hour shift, 40 hour week
195 work contract- July 25, 2024 to May 30, 2025
