What You Will Do
Reporting to the Operational Staff Services Group Leader, the successful candidate will provide phlebotomy and diagnostic testing to patients/employees of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The incumbent provides phlebotomy, Medical Review Officer Assistant (MROA) and occasional diagnostic clinic testing services to patients of Occupational Medicine within the scope of the individual certification and regulatory requirements. Specific duties include phlebotomy, specimen collection, specimen processing, and MROA responsibilities. Other duties may include vital signs, height/weight, vision testing, pulmonary function testing, electrocardiograph, and audio testing. The chosen candidate applies knowledge of the job and Laboratory policies and principles to complete a wide range of tasks. The incumbent has complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories and concepts in the field. The Diagnostic Testing Tec 2 has general knowledge of other related disciplines. Assignments are usually focused while working within established priorities, procedures, processes, requirements or specifications. Priorities and tasks are usually prescribed. They are expected to provide technical solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Incumbent works under general supervision. Follows established procedures for routine work.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Proficient knowledge of the anatomy and physiology being tested.
- Proficient experience operating a variety of testing and/or diagnostic equipment related to gathering diagnostic testing results.
- Knowledge and understanding regarding protected personal health information.
- Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogens protocol.
- Proficiency in computer use, electronic health records, office software and web interfaces.
- Demonstrated customer focus with ability to interact with a large cross section of colleagues and diversity of customers.
- NIOSH certification for Pulmonary Function Testing
- CAOHC certification for audiometry
- Medical Officer Review Assistant (MROA) Certification
Education:
- Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
- Associate's degree required for certification and/or licensing to perform some diagnostic testing job functions.
