Process and Sampling Technician 3 ($59,200 - $91,600)
The successful candidate performs a broad range of calibration on measuring and test equipment (M&TE) in the Dimensional area. Provides support of accreditation, bench operability, and/or quality control efforts. Applies calibration experience to collaboratively solve calibration issues and equipment troubleshooting. This position requires advanced calibration experience.
Process and Sampling Technician 4 ($71,200 - $112,900)
In addition to the duties outlined above, the Process and Sampling Tec 4 will be required to perform or manage the setup, calibration, operation, and maintenance of a wide variety of precise and complex equipment. They will develop advanced calibration and/or measurement techniques for new or one-of-a-kind instruments, equipment, and/or systems. Accurately perform, review, and validate calibration calculations such as uncertainties and Test-Uncertainty-Ratios (TURs), and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of sophisticated scope and complexity. They will also support A2LA Accredited activities by collecting calibration data and developing, reviewing, validating procedures and/or calculations.

Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires an Associate's Degree and 5 years of experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements
- Experience performing calibrations in a laboratory environment with an ability to adjust M&TE.
- Strong understanding of the major elements of a calibration.
- Experience in following administrative, quality, and technical procedures.
- Familiarity in monitoring calibration equipment trends to identify performance issues.
- Familiarity with measurement uncertainties, Test Uncertainty Ratios, and guard banding principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collective team.
- Ability to obtain a DOE "Q" Clearance, which normally requires U.S. Citizenship.
In addition to the Job Requirements outlined above, qualification at the Process and Sampling Technician 4 level requires:
- Demonstrated skill in conceptualizing and communicating major elements of dimensional calibrations.
- Demonstrated skill in preparation and presentation of test-measurement results.
- Demonstrated experience with precision, accuracy, and bias values.
- Demonstrated experience in resolving measurement issues by conducting research and investigating alternative solutions.
- Experience monitoring the performance of instruments for trends that may require the recalibration or servicing of the instrument.
- Knowledge and experience in working to ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires an Associate's Degree and 5 years of experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

- Ability to go on occasional domestic travel.
- Knowledge of Indysoft or other calibration-related Laboratory Information Management Systems.
