About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electron Microscopy Research Specialist to join our team at Los Alamos National Laboratory. As a member of our Materials Science in Radiation and Dynamics Extremes (MST-8) group, you will contribute to the development of new techniques and methods for preparing ultra-high-quality samples for Scanning/Transmission Electron Microscopy (S/TEM).
Responsibilities:
- Run day-to-day operations of the electron microscopy facility
- Train users on dual-beam FIB/SEMs
- Provide routine maintenance of the electron microscopes
- Maintain compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations
- Prepare high-quality HR-S/TEM samples via FIB
- Serve as a subject matter expert within a team
