What You Will Do
This position will be filled at the Program Manager 2 or 3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
The W76 Weapon Systems Engineering Group (W-2) is seeking candidates for the position of Program Manager. W-2 is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and security of our nation's W76 nuclear stockpile system (W76-0, W76-1, W76-2) for the entire weapon life cycle. W-2 is also responsible for oversight of the UK trident program.
The Program Manager is expected to work closely with the W-2 Program Manager Lead, as well as with project and line management to ensure performance and monitor and track cost, schedule, and progress against milestones.
Program Manager 2: $104,100 - $172,200
The program manager provides leadership and overall program management of an assigned specific strategic non-science or non-engineering scope portfolio, which may be large or small in total budget and may encompass one or more discrete programs. In many cases this means managing the non-technical aspects of a technical project through direct and continuous collaboration with the technical project lead and other technical team members. The program manager brokers with customers, individuals, and/or programs to determine what work will be done to meet the customers' needs, general timeframes, and funding requirements. The program manager is expected to develop working relationships that span existing internal and/or external institutional missions and extend into new opportunities as policies, missions, and opportunities evolve. Programs managed are a complex set of related activities needed to produce products or services over time to meet customer requirements within a given mission area. Programs are often ongoing over multiple years and evolve in response to the customers' changing needs. The customer may be an external body, such as a federal agency, or may be an internal organization within the Laboratory. Programs often are funded by a specific source but may comprise similar activities funded by multiple sources.
Program Manager 3: $125,200 - $211,300
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level you will be required to complete the above scope with little to no oversight but will still be responsible for interfacing with the Sr. Program Manager within the group. You will be utilized to provide SME input across the W76 portfolio scope. You will also be expected to provide direction and mentorship to junior program managers within the group.

Experience with defining work breakdown structures to assign programmatic deliverables to projects.
Collaboration: Experience in developing and nurturing effective customer relationships. Experience in interacting effectively with all levels of personnel; building trust, gaining consensus and resolving conflicts.
Experience establishing reporting and documentation requirements with the mid-level internal and/or external customer(s) and serves as the primary spokesperson to report status, manage expectations, and warn of upcoming issues

- Experience working effectively with DOE/NNSA personnel
- Demonstrated experience with NA-10 System Description Phase 6.X and DPBPS requirements
- Active DOE Q Clearance
- Formal project management training or education with the ability to obtain a Project Management Professional certification.
